Here Comes Love Episodes 16 – 20 RECAP

Trash’s eyes bore into Haein as he does a great impression of a furious man smarting from betrayal. He icily bites out that he doesn’t need a spy from the CEO in his office and dismisses the poor girl near tears.

Haein runs out with the tears streaming just as Sunyoung walks in. Sunyoung sees Haein’s contorted face and quizzically glances at Trash asking what Haein could have done to merit such a harsh rebuke. Trash sighs that Haein is incorrigible; she spends her time spying for CEO Na instead of working.

Meanwhile, Haein goes to meet Hansol who tells her that he found her dad.

At the same time, things continue to fall apart for Eunhee. Word has spread that Ma Rie Wedding Dresses is going bankrupt and people are jumping to cancel their orders. The latest disgruntled customer even comes in to tell Eunhee to her face.

This lady is renown in the fashion industry as Professor Jung. She glares at Eunhee as she declares that she is never going to wear another Ma Rie dress and hopes that Eunhee will not going around talking about their relationship.

Eunhee is hurt and tries to explain that t is a misunderstanding. But, Professor Jung is affronted to be involved in a copying scandal at all. She leaves without another look back.

Then, to add salt to the open wound, Eunhee gets a call from her fabric supplier. He cannot cancel the order that she had placed in anticipation of the Red Velvet contract. He wants her to pay up and now.

Coincidentally, Minsoo had arrived in the Ma Rie shop parking lot in time to see the bitter end with Professor Jung snubbing Eunhee and to catch the tail end of the conversation with the supplier. He tries to console Eunhee but she rebuffs him. So, he decides to help clean up the mess that his designer created by paying for the fabric on Eunhee’s behalf.

As for the other characters, CEO Na holds a meeting with an older assemblymen where a gift may have exchanged hands. And, the exchange gets recorded by a lackey of Trash.

Meanwhile, Sunyoung gives a presentation to investors about a new line that Papa Group wants to launch with fried chicken. In the middle of her presentation, she looks up and sees Woojoo. She pauses with surprise but he only smiles and gives her a thumbs up.

Afterwards, he explains that he got sent there by his father.

Back with Eunhee, her group finds out that their building has been sold. And, it has been bought by Hara.

Jumping to the conclusion that Hara’s raison d’etre of life is to ruin theirs, Eunhee calls Minsoo. Minsoo picks up happily and asks to meet.

Back at Papa Group, Sunyoung tries out the chef’s latest adaptation of the chicken dish. Is this a line of make chicken at home? She’s impressed and happy about the product’s outlook.

CEO Na joins her and smiles that he hopes Sunyoung can grow the company with the values he had first established. Then he frowns and warns her to keep the new line a secret from everyone including Trash.

Sunyoung isn’t convinced that it’s the right thing to keep this project a secret from her husband. She tells her father that she hoped that she could rely on her husband as well as being his support. But, CEO Na insists that it is not yet the time. He also adds that she should learn to succeed by herself first, which is a good lesson.

At the same time, Eunhee meets an excited Minsoo at a cafe. There, he proudly tells her his plan. He wants to create a house wedding hall in her building because of the location. (DRAMAFEED Note – in Korea, it used to be tradition that you always go to weddings that you’re invited to. There, you have to give a gift which is usually money to wish the new couple happiness. As a result, people hold lavish and large weddings knowing that all of the people for whom they attended weddings of, will return the favor. However, recently, a small niche is growing next to this tradition of smaller “house” weddings, which in Korea means anything below 150 guests for those who don’t fit the normal tradition.) He adds that he wants the Ma Rie Team to join Hara Wedding as part of the House Wedding Hall that is to be built.

Poor Minsoo is surprised when Eunhee stares at him like an idiot for thinking that she would be happy with his idea.

Later, Eunhee goes to blow off steam at her drum lessons and meets Sunyoung. But as they walk in, Sunyoung sees a sign announcing that the night will be Lena’s last show at the restaurant. She turns to Eunhee and suggests that they see the show instead – effectively, playing hooky from their drum lessons. Eunhee worries about what Woojoo would think but agrees cautiously.

Of course, Woojoo sees them when he goes upstairs after getting a text from Sunyoung that the two are skipping classes that day to enjoy music. However, seeing the two women enjoy themselves and laugh carelessly makes Woojoo beam like a proud husband/father and he even goes to make their sandwich order for them. He delivers it with aplomb and warns them to not ditch any other classes in the future.

At the same time, Haein meets up with Hansol in the park. He gleefully tells her that he has narrowed it down to a couple of names. He promises to continue to look into it and preens with the praise that Haein gives him – that he’s being useful.

Sunyoung also returns home and finds out that Trash isn’t home yet. Ahyoung jokingly warns her mother to be careful as her friend just found out that her dad cheated and the parents kept it a secret from their children only to divorce once they were all in college. Sunyoung laughs off the warning but when Trash gets home, she does ask about why his jacket smells like perfume.

Trash nonchalantly replies that it’s the air freshener from the car but Sunyoung muses that the smell is distinctively perfume.

The next day, Minsoo gets the initial blueprints for the Hara House Wedding Hall and runs over to Eunhee to show her. She walks away from him as she’s not interested and he follows like a puppy. But, then, a drama motorcycle passes by too close for Eunhee’s safety. Minsoo quickly pulls Eunhee into a hug away from the offending motorcycle. The motorcycle pushes them off balance and Minsoo falls, scraping his hand.

Eunhee sees the scraped hands with dismay and offers to bandaid it. But, Minsoo only wants her to promise to listen to his explanation about the blueprint.

Back at Papa Group, drama coincidences align for our next generation! Hansol visits the company to update Haein during his lunch break and they run into Ahyoung who is meeting up with Joonhoon. Ahyoung sees Hansol walk off with Haein but he doesn’t see her…

Turning back to our main couple. Eunhee is more agreeable in listening to Minsoo’s plans about creating a house wedding hall with its own inhouse design team. But she’s not ready to accept yet.

While the cat is out, the mouse will play! Instead of working, Dahee sneaks into Minsoo’s office and rummages through everything. When she finds he blueprints, she has them photocopied and brings them straight to Trash.

Trash frowns as buying the building and the remodeling would take money that Minsoo doesn’t have. He assumes that CEO Na is playing favorites with his money again. Uh… Dude, it’s HIS money!

Anyways, the mere thought of his father-in-law spending money on his son for the flippant use of starting a viable business triggers a flashback. Flash meets with CEO Na when he returns from the great pearly gates of Hahvahd. CEO Na asks if Trash knew about Sunyoung’s family before they started dating and Trash denies it. He promises that he only wanted to be friends with someone as he was so LONELY surrounded by thousands of other students. ^^;;; He winces to Dahee that he has a feeling CEO Na suspected the truth – he approached Sunyoung after knowing her background.

While Trash cuddles with Dahee, Sunyoung is at an official economic event of the elite and powerful with her dad. She asks ruefully if they can bring Trash the next time but CEO Na refuses. He frowns that Trash isn’t ready.

Coincidentally, our drum teacher/bartender is there on behalf of his father and sees Sunyoung. He goes up happy to see a familiar face and grouches that he has to take a selfie to prove to his father that he was there. Sunyoung offers to take he picture for him and he returns he favor…insisting that he takes one of her back. Oh? Do we hear the love bells ring?

One selfie naturally leads to another as we jump to the park where Ahyoung and Joonhoon are strategically taking selfies in front of different plants so that they can use the pictures from the night as proof of many dates for their parents. Then, Joonhoon has to use the restroom and Ahyoung runs into Hansol who saw the two taking selfies.

Hansol asks if that’s her boyfriend since Ahyoung had been overly friendly to him even asking for his number. Ahyoung asks back about Haein and Hansol proudly responds that Haein is his girlfriend. So, Ahyoung tops it by saying Joonhoon is her fiancé.

Hansol scowls and asks what she’s going around asking for other guy’s numbers and Ahyoung fumes saying she doesn’t need him to tell her anyways. She can find out his number and he better answer it!

The next day, Minsoo comes over to pick up Eunhee for a tour of the temporary studio that he wants the Ma Rie team to use while their building is being renovated. The studio is huge, clean, well light and has a great view!

Meanwhile, Haein goes in to interview Trash. She asks about he rumors that had been circling about how Trash new that they were using inferior ingredient for the drink. Trash immediately scowls and accuses Haein of being a corporate spy for their competitor.

Trash kicks Haein out cutting the interview short. But on her walk out, Haein sees a bound thesis from Seoul National University by Keum Bangsuk. She asks if he knew Keum Bangsuk. Trash denies it and kicks her out.

Eunhee is moved by the new studio and the fact that Minsoo has been so thoughtful. She broaches the idea of joining Hara as their inhouse wedding dress design team with her staff. Jinho refuses off the bat but the female staffer likes it.

At the same time, Minsoo tells Dahee that he’s going to have his other design team work on Professor Jung’s dress orders at the same time. Then they can let Professor Jung choose. Dahee fumes and rushes back to her office to order her staff to begin designing immediately!

Then, that night, Trash waits until Haein leaves the office and goes into the team’s library. He takes all of the folders that Haein had been using as her main research.

After, this evil deed, Trash goes home to find Minsoo drinking beer in the garden and joins. He asks Minsoo if anything happened and Minsoo smiles ruefully that he just feels that everything is complicated when it comes to this one woman… He is interested but she doesn’t return his sentiments.

Trash laughs and encourages Minsoo to go for it. Then Sunyoung joins with wine and Minsoo excuses himself.

Cue Dahee calling because she’s bored. When she hears that Trash is drinking wine with Sunyoung in the garden, she freaks out and tries to invite herself over. Trash intercepts the call and tells Dahee in no uncertain terms that she’s not welcome and Dahee screams that she will die if Trash continues like this (basically having lovey dovey time with Sunyoung). Trash smiles and hangs up the phone unaffected. But, Sunyoung heard the end of it and questions Trash about what Dahee said since that’s not something that a cousin would usually say. Trash shrugs it off but have the tiny seeds of doubt been planted?

We turn to Minsoo who really seems to have fallen for Eunhee. He decides to call her and gets her in the middle of designing another dress. Then he offers to either play her a song or sing her one to help with the late hour.

Eunhee laughs and opts for the sung song as a challenge to see if Minsoo will actually sing. He does and Eunhee finds herself singing along.

Mean while, Dahee goes to Woojoo’s cafe and gets drunk staying even after closing. When Woojoo comes over to kick her out, Dahee demands that he calls her cousin to pick her up! Woojoo frowns as he knows it’s Sunyoung’s wife and refuses. Lena watches all this and gets annoyed. She marches over and throws a glass of water on Dahee. Dahee sputters awake and storms out refusing to pay when Woojoo answers that he called a substitute driver so they don’t need to call her cousin.

Haein is also not sleeping at this time. She ponders over the bound thesis that she saw in Trash’s office. Since Trash is going by the name of Kang Sangho, she has no idea why he would have Bangsuk’s thesis… She decides to ask Eunhee about Bangsuk.

When Haein broaches the subject of a Keum Bangsuk who attended Seoul National University, Eunhee drops her cup of water. She pretends not to know but Haein notices how rattled Eunhee is…

Eunhee goes to ask her mother what they will do now that Haein has the name. Mom frowns and tells Eunhee that they can’t stop fate; if Haein is fated to meet her father, she will even if he won’t welcome her.

The next morning, Haein goes into work to find that all of her materials have disappeared. She runs out to Joonhoon for help and he checks the security cameras. But, there was no footage from midnight to 6am because they were resetting the system.

Trash hears the official report and calls Haein in to accuse her of being sloppy with the reports. Word also gets to CEO Na who sighs that something suspicious is happening since the materials disappeared when the security cameras were not running. He tells his secretary to open up his private library to Haein and Joonhoon.

On the side, Minsoo runs over to see Eunhee again! He hands over Professor Jung’s dress order and they have a date! It begins with lunch and even includes a walk through the park during which Minsoo declares that he wants to compensate Eunhee for all the suffering she had to go through because of him – he will help her experience all the things she forgot because she’s been busy working her whole life.

That night Dahee and her minion decide to mix and match other people’s styles for their dress… While, Eunhee continues to work and Minsoo drops by with a variety of different cake slices to help her work.

Haein and Joonhoon arrive at this random place where there’s a traditional wooden shelf library. CEO Na explains that only he and his secretary (Secretary Jang) know about the library. He’s kept a copy of everything and he hopes Haein and Joonhoon will review the materials in the library as well as keep its existence a secret.

Back at home, CEO Na has fruit with Trash and Sunyoung. The housekeeper comes up to ask Sunyoung what they should do about Trash’s suit as it’s missing a button. Sunyoung frowns as she has no idea where Trash could have lost it. Trash brushes it off as probably being lost at work.

Then Secretary Jang calls and tells CEO Na that they got footage from the secret additional camera they had set up in the company library. The footage shows that the thief was Trash.

CEO Na exclaims angrily before getting up. He answers Sunyoung’s question with a more lighthearted musing that they seemed to have found the thief but it’s not certain. He’s to be told the next day.

Trash freezes when he hears this and then throws a tantrum to Sunyoung when he goes into the room.

One refreshing thing about this arc is the rehabilitation of Minsoo! He still doesn’t have the squeal worthy OMG-CAN-YOU-BELIEVE characteristic but he’s in his mid forties. What he does have is that he knows he’s interested in Eunhee and he goes after it even if she is clearly not returning the interest.

Since, usually, we have to go through rounds of angst and conflict before the main male lead almost loses the girl prior to his realization that he is into the girl – this self awareness is much welcome! Now that we have one side interested, we just need him to win over Eunhee and then we can deal with the various conflicts in the background such as her having a biological child with her brother-in-law-to-be and the psychotic Dahee in the periphery. Oh, and I hope Sunyoung stays cool instead of warping into the Sister-in-Law-from-Hell.

Haein’s part of this arc was a bit more cringeworthy. It played more like a coming-of-age into the corporate world kind of story. The bright-eyed bushy-tailed girl joins a corporation and is surprised to find that management can be full of incompetent and childish idiots. She then has the naive view that she can fight such corporate injustice without a senior (and powerful champion guarding her job security) and literally attacks Trash back through her pointed interview questions as if he will happily acknowledge that he caused a big scandal in the past. While, it is understandable that Haein is just naive, I wonder if she still does not understand that she is an intern at the bottom of the totem pole and she’s making a top director her enemy… The field is stacked against her and she can’t win without powerful allies. If she doesn’t realize this soon, there are some painful learning experiences ahead.

Pulling back and reviewing the plot from a more general view, it seems solid so far. For a daily drama, this series rests more on the strength of its characters and their stories. It isn’t here to shock you into watching (other than Trash and Dahee and even they are kind of balanced out). Rather, it’s here to tell you the story of several relatable people in a changing Korean backdrop. Those who are or find themselves single at an older age. Hence a different kind of courtship and a different kind of male lead. Maybe this hints at a demographic change among the viewers?

Additionally, with the audience demographic target changing to the more younger ajummas and less of the older generation, we see the shift in the background conflict. While the older generation suffered at hands of mother-in-laws and sister-in-laws, the current generation has a higher chance of suffering at the hands of third party crazies (like Dahee or Trash) who plot around because they are incompetent at their own lives.

Finally, am I the only one that finds the nascent romance between Ahyoung and Hansol cute? There are many problems with Hansol (mom) but he is clearly a sweet kid. Also, since Ahyoung seems happy to just flit around and make sure her grandfather and parents feel loved, she would probably fit in perfectly with Hansol’s mom.

Here Comes Love 15-20 Recap  by DRAMAFEED | Copy & Paste Guidelines – Always put a link back to the source.

Haein begins working on wobbly baby corporate legs and gets caught in the middle of a corporate battle between CEO Na and Trash. Meanwhile, Eunhee gets cornered by Dahee  when an unlucky fall pushes the power balance in favor of Dahee…She ends up confessing to the copying that she didn’t do to get Jinho out of jail.

Haein sulks through different websites to find out that their application submission deadlines have all past.  Then, she gets a call from Papa Group.

At the same time, a Representative of Red Velvet meets with Minsoo to discuss partnering up.  They are a famous wedding shop in China and want Hara to design their dresses.  Minsoo apologizes that he doesn’t think that their company can handle it and recommends Ma Rie.  But, Da Hee’s minion overhears everything.

Haein goes to Papa Group and meets with CEO Na and Joonhoon.  CEO Na explains that he wants to clean up and organize Papa Group’s history before he retires.  He also wants Haein to work with Joonhoon.

Meanwhile, Minsoo takes Eunhee out to lunch.  She’s asking if he’s apologizing but he says that he cannot officially apologize without hard proof.  Eunhee has no idea why he even called her out.  After getting their bread, Minsoo asks Eunhee to join their company as a designer.

Eunhee cuts him off and refuses.  She tells him that she doesn’t really care about becoming famous.  As long as she can pay for rent and pay her staff, she is happy.  She opened up the shop to just make a living.  Minsoo offers to hire the rest of Eunhee’s staff as well.  But, Eunhee repeats that she rejects his offer.  Rather, she would rather he help find the truth of the copying incident.

Minsoo answers that time will give them the truth.  He also adds that he won’t give up because he recognizes her talent.

Back at the company, Joonhoon eats with Joonhoon when Sunyoung joins.  They happily discuss the cafeteria menu and Sunyoung smiles that she’s happy to have Haein join the company.

Then the Representative of Red Velvet meets with Eunhee.  They discuss partnering up together and he promises to send her the contract through email.  They will be ordering tons of wedding dresses from Eunhee.

While Sunyoung goes to the violin concert alone, Trash spends some quality “couples time” with Dahee. She massages his head and then even cleans his ear.  Is she his mistress or slave?

Back at the concert, the intermission occurs and Sunyoung runs into Woojoo in the lobby. They are both surprised to see the other. Woojoo explains that the violinist is his cousin and Sunyoung smiles that her company (as in the company she works for or her family’s company – the wording is unclear in Korean) sponsors a lot of talented musicians and the violinists are sponsorees. The break ends and both go back to their separate seats.

Then the lights go off in the whole building and the audience has to stumble out. Sunyoung has weak night vision and stumbles on the steps as she’s wearing heels. None of the other worried attendees stop to help. But, within minutes, Woojoo is by her side. He help her out of the building, using the flash on his phone to help guide her unconfident steps.

Once outside, they see that she has twisted her ankle and Woojoo takes her to the nearest emergency room. Sunyoung calls Trash on the way, so he arrives in time to play the concerned and jealous husband.

Woojoo excuses himself as soon as Trash arrives but Trash follows. Outside the doors, Trash warns Woojoo not to lurk around his Sunyoung. Woojoo reminds that Trash should spend more time with his Sunyoung instead of forcing her to go to events by herself.

Later that night, Sunyoung also tells Trash that she’s disappointed in his inability to make time for her. She makes him promise to keep his promises with her.

The next day, Dahee goes on the offense with the copy incident. She tells Minsoo that she will prove her innocence and then heads over to the main office of Red Velvet. There, she tells the Representative that MaRie Wedding Designs copied her design and she’s preparing a lawsuit against the company for damages. She warns him not to finalize the contract with MaRie as there will soon be bad publicity.

At the same time, Ahyoung wanders into a noodle shop where she sees Hansol for the second time. The first time being when she ran into him at the mart and gave him the broken cup.

She wonders out loud that it’s a coincidence and joins him. She also happily declares that she was able to keep a cactus in her cup. Hansol smiles that he did the same with his and Ahyoung announces that there must be a connection between them.

But, before romantic bells can ring, Hansol gets up to leave as he’s finished his meal. Ahyoung asks him if they can trade numbers the next time that they randomly run into each other and Hansol agrees.

Meanwhile, the Representative from Red Velvet calls Eunhee to tell her that he’s cancelling the contract as Dahee sent him the drafted lawsuit complaint she plans to file against Red Velvet if they contract with Eunhee.

Shocked at this turn of events, Eunhee rushes over to Hara Wedding Hall.

Since Eunhee had called Minsoo about the situation, he brings in Dahee to confirm that she went corporate rogue. Dahee, however, sits across from Minsoo glaring at him and even accuses him of not doing enough for his company. She declares that she will win the large wedding dress contract from Red Velvet and clear her name in the process.

Eunhee walks into the meeting and the picture doesn’t look good. Anyone would believe that Dahee is working under Minsoo’s marching orders, if not his approval. Eunhee tells Dahee to call off her threatened lawsuit against Red Velvet. Dahee laughs back that she has nothing to lose.

And… Minsoo regains calm in the room by ordering Dahee out. Eunhee sits down still shaking from her anger. She tells Minsoo to control his rogue designer or she will counter sue Hara Wedding Hall. Minsoo asks Eunhee to trust him a little longer as he will figure this out.

But when Eunhee walks out, Dahee is waiting for her. Dahee sneers that someone like Eunhee in a no-name wedding dress shop should be careful where she picks fights as she will lose. Eunhee doesn’t back down as she knows Dahee is just copying her and Dahee uses her signature move – physically grabbing Eunhee to drag her out.

At this point, Jinho arrives. He rushes to his boss’ aid but Dahee doesn’t let go even with Jinho trying to separate him. He tries harder to pull Dahee away and she stumbles and falls into one of the hallway plants, cutting into her.

Dahee realizes that she just won the battle and begins screaming as if she’s dying from the cut into her arm. She’s taken to the emergency where the doctor takes out the glass but she moans that she still feels like she has some glass left in her.

Then when she walks out, she calls Trash and they both agree that she’s going to play it it as much as she can to get 6 weeks of necessary rehabilitation time. (In Korea, if the hurt person gets 6 weeks or more, the aggressor is jailed unless the two sides settle. Even if the alleged aggressor wants to fight it out in court, he has to wait for the trial in jail.)

Meanwhile, Trash happily takes out his team for drinks. Then the appetizer soup comes out and Haein begins scratching while Trash coughs uncontrollably. Both realize that the soup must have used some sort of crab as they are allergic.

Haein takes one of her allergy pills that she carries around and the symptoms disappear. When Trash can’t calm himself, she offers him one as well. It works and on his way home, he muses with Sunyoung that he needs to find out what company the pills are from.

But then the next day, Trash calls in Haein to ask about the pills. Instead of thanking her, he angrily complains that he had an upset stomach all night long because of the side affects. Then he goes on to tell her that her proposal sucked and he is going to trash it.

Haein walks out dejected and pauses next to the window to calm herself. At that moment, Ceo Na walks by and recognizes her as the star recruit. When he strikes up a conversation, he realizes she’s upset and nearly crying.

He asks her what happened since if a new recruit is crying the first week on the job, there are serious issues. Haein tries to play it off and explains that she just got her proposal critiqued. So, Ceo Na asks for the proposal to review.

Of course, when Ceo Na goes into his office and actually looks at the proposal, he likes it. He calls in Joonhoon and tells him to develop the proposal further.

The next day, the cops come in to bring Jinho into custody. They tell him that he only has until the afternoon to settle the matter with the victim or he’s stuck.

Eunhee cannot leave her friend and coworker in jail. So, she goes over to Hara Wedding Hall to meet with Dahee regarding the settlement conditions.

Dahee smirks that she will call everything off if Eunhee admits to copying her design. Eunhee is stuck as formally admitting to copying will follow her for a long time in her industry… But, the girl in front of her is obviously a crazy witch that caught them in a mistake and will use it to her advantage.

Eunhee signs the declaration with shaking hands that she copied and promises to pull the dress. Trash’s lawyer (likely the company’s) calls the police to release Jinho.

Eunhee stumbles out to find Minsoo outside. He asks if she signed the declaration to get her friend out. She stares back and asks how he can pretend to be supportive when he wont even control or stop his own designer. She’s done with him, Dahee and Hara Wedding Hall.

Eunhee next goes to the police station to see Jinho. He’s clearly happy to be out but becomes crestfallen when he hears that Eunhee admitted to copying to get him out. He sends Eunhee on first and runs over to Hara instead.

At Hara, Jinho goes to the office area where he screams for everyone to come out. Minsoo is first. Minsoo looks at the broken man and warns him not to do anything rash and it will not help.

Jinho grabs Minsoo by Minsoo’s collars but he knows… Anything he does now might just land him back in jail or at their mercy for another settlement.

The insult gets worse. The next day, a client arrives who has a wedding in a couple of days. She had wanted THAT dress. They react predictably when Eunhee apologizes that they can have any dress but the dress that the bride picked out … Like three days before the wedding. Both the bride and the mom are pissed.

So, Eunhee offers a refund but that’s not enough. Understandably, the bride and her mother feel blind-sighted by the sudden change as the bride would have to find another dress days before her wedding. The mother declares that she will only accept it if Eunhee pays for the bride’s choice from a luxury dress designer.

Unable to do anything, Eunhee agrees. Then her staffer interrupts and tells the bride that they can’t provide her with the dress but she knows of a place with the exact same design – Hara Wedding Hall. Eunhee makes the call to Minsoo who promises to prepare the dress for when the client arrives.

Meanwhile, Dahee heads over to Red Velvet with the signed declaration. The Representative is convinced by her story and agrees to contract with Hara Wedding Hall instead.

Yet, when Dahee triumphantly brings the contract to Minsoo he frowns and refuses to sign it. He sighs that he doesn’t feel right. Dahee insists that he has to think of the company and we never hear the conclusion.

On the side, Joonhoon has a tea break with Haein and it looks like there’s some undercurrents developing here. Then a perfectly timed scene between Trash and Sunyoung informs us that Joonhoon comes from a good family which is why Trash and Ceo Na wishes that he ends up with Ahyoung.

Then night finally arrives and this terrible, horrible, no good day for Eunhee ends with soju in front of a convenience store. She drinks alone waiting for the alcohol to full her pain.

Instead of dullness, Minsoo arrives and joins her. Eunhee’s reaction is to bite back and order that he leave her presence. But, Minsoo doesn’t get up. He tells her that this is just part of life and it shouldn’t matter because he believes her and he will make sure that she succeeds. Hah! Throw gas on a burning building, will you?!

Eunhee isn’t convinced either and decides to head home.

At the same time, Hansol has a breakthrough in the search for Haein’s biological father. That’s when his mother comes in to check on him and frowns when she realizes that he was working on Haein-related stuff again. Hansol answers that his mom needs to understand that in his life, its first Haein, second Haein and third Haein. His mother is fourth. His mother clucks like an angry mother hen and leaves.

The next day, our two leading ladies Eunhee and Sunyoung end up taking their first drum lesson together. When they each arrive at the studio, some guy is enthusiastically playing the drum. He sees the two women and throws down his sticks declaring that anyone including cows and dogs are learning how to drum. And with that outburst, he leaves!

Eunhee turns to Sunyoung in surprise to confirm that the guy just called them cows and dogs. The two women are quite insulted but they bond by the shocking experience.

Then Woojoo arrives. He hands out drum sticks and announces that they go by pseudonames. He names Eunhee “Smile” so that she will smile more and Sunyoung “Future” so that she will look toward the future. Then he teaches them the basic beat and leaves after telling them to practice.

After some time has past, Eunhee gets bored and suggests to Sunyoung that they to on the real drum set. The two cautiously walk over and begin having fun when Mr. Musician from before comes in and screams to see the two hitting the drums. He declares that drumming must come from the heart, kicks the two women off the drums, and warns them not to try drumming on real drums until Woojoo tells them that they are ready.

The rest of the lesson is uneventful and the women part having made friends in each other.

The next day, Haein’s group has another meeting where Trash is frustrated with her ideas of investigating past crises and explaining how the company grew from their mistakes. He orders that Haein focus on research only.

Haein heads over to the company’s library when Ceo Na appears looking for an older file. He doesn’t remember the name of the guy that he’s looking for – only that the guy created a product.

Haein happily suggests the name and pulls out the relevant file. Seeing that Haein has researched and informed herself about the company, Ceo Na gets all excited and sits down to talk.

He mentions that he wants to look into one of their bad times when he was sick and went abroad for treatment. At the time, they had a drink that was selling well. By while he was gone, bad ingredients were used and people got sick. The line had to be trashed.

Haein asks if such incidents should be swiped under the rug. Ceo Na disagrees. He tells her that he wants the truth found out and he wants to be able to tell the victims why it happened. Haein pauses as that was her idea which got tabled by Trash.

CEO Na grimaces and then calls Trash in later to declare that he is going to investigate the whole scandal further.  Trash realizes that it was Haein who told the CEO.

And we begin moving into the main story now that we know more about each characters.  One interesting fun subplot is the one about the Papa Group drink which sounds like “Onion Drink” when I watch the episodes but I can’t be sure.  It’s clear that TEAM CEO NA and TEAM TRASH will end up duking it out over this scandal where Trash messed up after cutting corners and it cost Papa Group a lot of goodwill.  The real question is what motivated Trash?  Did he think that he would curry favor with CEO Na by increasing the company’s revenue?

One quick observation was that it’s interesting that Haein and Eunhee are professionally developing at the same time.  Haein is stumbling over her baby corporate legs and Eunhee has run into her first corporate betrayal… Unfortunately, some may even say that for a business to grow, it has to overcome hurdles.  Dahee undercut Eunhee, which is interesting.  Eunhee’s business has been small enough that it does not trigger major competitors and she’s been safe from dealing with too many bridezillas.  Minsoo was right that Eunhee could learn and grow from the Dahee experience.  I liked the fact that there is this parallel development occurring in this series. 🙂

Haein finds out about her birth secret and applies to join Papa Group.  She gets hired despite Trash.  On the other hand, Dahee’s copied design begins to muck up the waters between Minsoo and Eunhee

We begin with Minsoo having an EUREKA moment!  Eunhee needs to be scouted to lead their wedding dress team.

Back at home, Mom beats Haein with a stick sighing that Haein doesn’t have any compassion.  In return, Haein runs out to meet Hansol… Hansol smiles as he hands over $1,000.

This changes Haein’s mood just in time for Hansol to note that as soon as he passes the CPA exam, he would be a great groom candidate.  He sighs that he dreams of getting married soon and having a family.  He even adds that his money would be Haein’s money as well as Haein’s money would be Haein’s money.

Haein sighs that she will let him know when she finds a girl who wants to get married soon.

On the side, Sunyoung’s blouse has been drycleaned.  Woojoo calls to ask if she wants to pick it up or if he should send it to her.  Sunyoung agrees to com and pick it up.

Then Lena comes up to tease Woojoo about calling another woman.  She tells him that she hadn’t realized when they were married but now that they are divorced, she finds him much more interesting.  Woojoo cuts it off with the note that she’s always interesting in other men.

Meanwhile, Haein prepares to draft her application for Papa Groups special recruiting that Hansol told her about.  Hitting a writer’s block, she asks her mom about her past papers that won awards since she had one about Papa Group’s cookies.

Mom directs Haein to Eunhee’s room as all of Haein’s stuff was saved by Eunhee.

Haein goes off and happily looks through a box of Eunhee’s stuff – which is all of Haein’s old baby stuff.  Even Mom comes over to fawn over all of the baby items.  But, then Haein finds a pregnancy journal under Eunhee’s name.

Mom tries to grab it but Haein runs off as she reads it.  Mom follows and cries that the journal is actually hers…But Haein continues since the photograph is of Eunhee…The baby’s birthday matches Haein’s birthday.

Haein turns to Mom with tears in her eyes and asks if she is Eunhee’s baby.  Mom falls and repeats that it’s all a lie.  But, Haein quickly puts everything together.  She must be Eunhee’s baby.  That explains Eunhee’s obsession with her…Eunhee had her when she was 23.  Haein breaks down screaming about the craziness of it all.

At the same time, Mom has a flashback to when her husband was still alive.  As soon as Haein was born, Dad had run off to register the new baby under his family tree as HIS daughter.  They promised to tell Eunhee later…When they went in to see the new baby, Eunhee declares that she does not want to return to college so that she could take care of the baby… It had been 23 years.  (Oh! Eunhee is 46 now!)

Eunhee waits for Haein outside of her shop and looks worried when Haein arrives.  With shaking hands, she pours Haein a cup of tea and pretends that everything is normal.

Haein jumps straight in and asks why Eunhee turned her into a horrible witch – listening to all of Haein’s accusations.  Haein accuses Eunhee of being an idiot.

Eunhee quietly answers that she doesn’t expect anything.  But, Haein continues on that she knows that she’s the reason that Eunhee had to give up everything, never dated, never married…that Eunhee’s dad passed away out of frustration and stress.

Eunhee begins to cry as well.  She confesses that she wanted to raise Haein as her legal daughter b ut when she got released from the hospital, she found out that her dad had already registered Haein under his family tree.  She had planned to tell Haein when Haein got married.

Haein sobs that she doesn’t know what to do anymore.  And, Eunhee gently grabs Haein’s hands asking if “Mom can hug her.”  This gets answered by a shout from Haein that Eunhee is her sister not her mom!  The poor girl is completely confused.  Eunhee though is willing to do anything that would make Haein happy.

At the same time, Sunyoung’s daughter happily dances away at a club before she gets a call from her dad.  Downing the rest of the beer bottle, she runs out to the academy where her father waits in a car to pick her up…Sunyoung had gone to the club in case that’s where they would find her.

As for Haein and Eunhee, they have made up.  Haein promises to marry a wonderful person and have an adorable kid like Eunhee.  But, she makes Eunhee promise that Eunhee would get married first.

This sweet moment gets interrupted by Trash driving like an arsehat and swerving in front of them.  =_= Irony.  He just swerved in front of his other biological daughter with his current biological daughter.  Go figure.

When Eunhee and Haein arrive at home, Haein asks Eunhee about her father.  Eunhee freezes and seems to panic.  Her eyes twitching from side to side, Eunhee answers that she has not heard from the guy in 23 years.  He had gone to the United States to study and never contacted.

Haein says exactly what we’re all feeling.  She laughs that if the guy was willing to leave a pregnant woman to further his own ambitions, there is no chance of him dying.  He will be living and clawing his way up.  She adds that he has responsibility, too and wants to see the face of such Trash.

Eunhee warns Haein that Haein will be hurt if she looks for the man…Her father might not even be repenting as they were never part of his life.  Haein frowns and declares that he will make the man kneel in front of her sister and apology.

Meanwhile, Trash has wine with his “family.”  When Ahyoung mentions mixing a drink, Trash frowns and chides her on acting like a “black spoon” when she’s a “gold spoon.”  (In Korea, they say that the rich are born with a golden spoon in their mouth because they have tons of money and resources.  Meanwhile, the poor have to make do with blackened steel utensils.)  Sunyoung frowns that there is nothing like “black spoons” and “gold spoons” since everyone are precious spirits.   Ahyoung laughs that she understands both positions and turns their attention back to the wine at hand.

The next day, there is a hilarious moment when Minsoo’s father shows him two pictures of pretty young girls.  Minsoo picks one assuming that his father wants to meet women again.  His father grumbles that he wants Minsoo to get married but Minsoo weasels his way out.

Suddenly, trouble comes knocking.  Eunhee’s staff finds a wedding dress ad/ picture that looks JUST like their dresses.  The staff are convinced that the designer must have copied their design.  The other female staff muses worriedly that this was not the first time that they saw a similar design.

On the side, Haein turns in her application and happily walks out where another staff member sees her.  Trash walks out at the same time and hits her with his suit jacket, making her drop her cup.  As Haein is about to shout after him, the employee that saw her earlier saves her by stopping her.  He smiles that they will clean it up and explains that the offender is their Director and must have been busy. A love interest?

Then Sunyoung and Trash go to Woojoo’s restaurant for dinner.  When Trash doesn’t answer, Dahee also shows up…And, of course drama-coincidences, Haein brings Eunhee to the same restaurant…

Things turn up a notch when Sunyoung goes to grab her shirt.  Dahee smiles that they can get some private time together with the help of a pill that she drops into Sunyoung’s wine glass.  Woojoo sees this in the background and frowns.

Then as Sunyoung is about to take a sip, Woojoo pretends to trip and runs into Sunyoung so that Sunyoung drops the glass.  Awww….the chemistry that I’m not feeling from Minsoo, I’m feeling from daddy-long-legs Woojoo!  A guy should be like this…talented, sharp AND CAPABLE – someone who actually PROTECTS OTHERS.  No girl needs a useless guy who cannot even protect his woman.  If he hadn’t been divorced, he’d be perfect but since Eunhee also has a past?

Dahee and Trash are pissed off but Sunyoung smiles with understanding.  As the group is leaving, Trash stops by to warn Woojoo to be careful in the future.  Woojoo coolly answers that if Trash doesn’t like the service, he doesn’t have to come.

Trash angrily adds that he can make it so Woojoo is unable to do business here.  Woojoo answers that he owns the building and the back parking lot.  They aren’t selling. YES! CAPABLE AND RESOURCEFUL!  Woojoo also adds that sometimes use the back parking lot for bad pranks that must be kept a secret (like when Trash and Dahee switched cars)…and he hopes that Trash won’t do so in the future.

As Trash bristles at the accusation – Sunyoung returns and pulls him off.

The female trash Dahee decides that she wants a chance with Trash that night.  She pretends to be knocked out and unable to walk so that Trash has to help her back to her apartment.  As soon as the elevator doors close, the two are sucking on each others’ faces like bunnies.

Meanwhile, Sunyoung has the daeri-driver (in Korea, there is a service of people who drive your car for you if you drink) park Dahee’s car.  She takes Dahee’s key up and interrupts the evil.

At the restaurant, Haein introduces Eunhee to Woojoo and asks him to teach Eunhee who to play drums.  She tells Eunhee in the car that she hopes the two would get together.

In the morning, Ahyoung asks her family to look into her friend’s sister’s application.  Trash is willing but Grandpa cuts it off and says that everyone needs to be picked out on their merits.  Ahyoung asks if she will also have to apply for a position.  Grandpa huffs that Ahyoung needs to start as an intern at one of their stores.

Later, Haein shops for some snacks.  When she overhears some Chinese tourists looking for chocolate potato chips, she directs them to Papa Group snacks.  Suddenly, she is explaining to a group of tourists in Chinese more about Papa Group snacks.

Ahyoung is at the same mart and sees Haein surrounded by the people.  Of course, and gets surprised to hear that Haein isn’t even an employee.

Minutes later, Haein gets a text that she passed the first stage of applications….

Back at the company, Sunyoung and Trash discuss the applications.  Trash is unimpressed by Haein’s application while Sunyoung really likes it.

At Hara Wedding, Dahee rips off a couple of pages from Eunhee’s sketchbook  to keep before tossing the rest.  But when Minsoo walks out of the bathroom, he sees the thrown away sketchbook and wonders whose it is.  He even brings it up to ask Dahee if anyone in the Design Team lossed their sketchbook.

Dahee snaps that no one in their team would draw such hick designs.  Minsoo insists that Dahee tell the others that he will hold the sketchbook in his office.

Randomly, the celebrity who was supposed to wear the designed wedding dress ends her engagement.  So, Dahee models it…The reaction is so great that they display the dress in the lobby of the wedding hall.  Some guests walking by spot it and muse that it looks exactly the same as the one in MaRie’s Wedding Dress Shop… Later, a power blogger writes a scathing post about Hara Wedding Hall copying the designs of other smaller boutiques.

Minsoo gets worried and rushes over.  Eunhee runs into him at the front of her store and invites him in.  Minsoo explains that the same design was created by his team.  Eunhee laughs that she has been working on the design for a long time and she just finished it today…

Minsoo asks for proof.  So Eunhee asks her staff (Minho) to show Minsoo all of their saved drafts on the computer.  And, the shop is pretty efficient.  They had taken pictures of every single completed sketch.  The picture file on the computer even has a time and date stamp.  It was stamped as of a week ago, and Hara’s Dress Shop only just displayed their dress.

Minsoo is shocked speechless.  Minho grabs Minsoo’s collars and demands to Minsoo stop spouting nonsense.  Eunhee runs in to stop the brawl before it finishes and she offers to go see the other design.

Eunhee rushes over to the displayed dress.  But she’s shocked as she designed the dress.  She sighs that it must be copied… Minsoo argues that if Eunhee just finished her dress yesterday, how could they have copied it?

Eunhee notes that she lost her sketchbook on the day that she got called over to Minsoo’s office.  But when she stopped by the bathroom, someone took her sketchbook.  Minsoo pauses and takes her to his office.  But then the last page with the dress design is gone.

Minsoo wonders if it’s the truth.  Eunhee angrily answers that some other design sketches are gone as well.  She asks them to take the dress down.  Minsoo declares that the side who prove that the either copied the other will apologize.

Minsoo tries calling Dahee but she sighs that she’s in the hospital because she overexerted herself while modeling the dress.  She promises to confront the liar the next day.  Ah, how the talentless cry and lie…Eunhee gets up and refuses Minsoo’s ride, she asks him instead to look into who had her sketch book for a week because that will answer the question.

Dahee calls Trash to cry about the situation.  He confirms that Dahee copied it but then tells her to go out STRONG.  Insist that she didn’t copy it and there will be a solution. Puke.

Ah! Ahyoung! Heart out to you for the next scene.  Without even knowing that she’s helping her half-sister, Ahyoung tells her grandfather than Sunyoung about seeing a random girl telling all these Chinese tourists about Papa Group cookies. She tells them to watch out for a pretty young girl with black hair.

The next day, Dahee scoffs at the accusation that she copied.  Without any proof, she goes on the offense and acts furious that Minsoo would even suspect her.  She declares that she will ruin the other designer with proof.

Ahhh! It’s time for the interview.  Haein walks in confidently only to stop when Trash looks up.  She is visibly shaken as Trash glares at her.  But, she powers through.  Trash begins by asking what Haein’s parents do because, you know, what parents do affects how well a person successfully works?  Tells much about how capable of an executive he is.

Anyways, he continues a painful interview asking if the lack of a father figure would affect Haein’s work ethic.  But Sunyoung asks if Haein was at a certain market the other day.  Haein agrees and explains that she introduced the product to Chinese tourists.

After the interview, everyone wants to pick Haein except for Trash.  Even Sunyoung has to ask why he focused on such not-relevant questions during the interview.  Trash smiles that due to his background, he knows a lot about people like Haein who grew up in a harsh background and leaves.

Then, Trash walks into Haein who was pondering the interview in the lobby.  She asks if they can talk.  Trash announces that she was rejected from when she walked into the interview room.  Haein bitterly remarks that she wish she knew he was such an IMPORTANT person; her voice drips with sarcasm.  But, Trash laughs that it’s because she didn’t have a father to teach her.

Haein looks him straight in the eyes and announces that she will get employed by Papa Group.  And she will show him wrong.  How about we go back to Trash’s own prophecy that the two cannot live?  One has to die.

Meanwhile, Dahee’s evidence is to show HER sketchbook.  There are no dates.

Minsoo sighs that he has already called off the magazine because it would be humiliation for them to go public with the dress and allow for the scandal.  They can just give up on one dress.  Sounds reasonable, I mean if she’s talented, she can just design another dress.  But, Dahee refuses to accept it and runs over to MaRie shop to duke it out in a civilized manner…

In other words, she barges in, pushes Minho aside and then announces that she’s the one who lost her sketchbook…She’s the original.  WITH WHAT SPECS?! YOUR FAKE EDUCATIONAL DEGREE? WITH THE JOB YOU GOT THROUGH SLEEPING WITH TRASH?  Someone stuff Dahee’s head in the toilet.

Anyways, after yelling that she’s the original, she grabs Eunhee by her hair and screams.  Very civilized.  I wish that Eunhee goes to court with this so that they can show that Eunhee had a bunch of successful designs while this is Dahee’s first…

Minsoo apologizes on behalf of Dahee.  He states that there is not enough evidence on both sides… So, they will take a step back.  They will not display the dress and they will not publicize the dress either.

Eunhee is so frustrated tears swell up.  She tells him that she doesn’t care about his apologies if they aren’t sincere.  For it to be sincere, they need to apologize for COPYING her dress in the first time.  HEAR. HEAR.  Then she leaves.

Minsoo?  He goes off and orders that they strip the mannequin of the dress.  That’s it.

On the side, Hansol finds Haein drinking.  He announces that he passed the accounting exam.  He even has a job so they can get married. =_= Haein tells him to looks elsewhere as she has to figure out her life.

As Eunhee and Mom try to get over their depression over Haein not getting hired, Grandpa, Sunyoung and Ahyoung have dinner.  The topic organically turns to Haein as Ahyoung hopes that Ahyoung was hired.  Grandpa also adds that he was able to read the application essay and found it so entertaining that he hoped to speak with Haein separately.

Sunyoung answers that Haein was not hired as one of the Recruiting Committee members disapproved.  Grandpa immediately realizes that it was Trash and grumps that Trash doesn’t know how to spot a great candidate.

Speaking of Trash.  Instead of eating dinner with his family, he’s off drinking with Dahee at her apartment.  He tells Dahee to keep fighting for innocence until everyone believes it.

Dahee smiles and asks if he will turn to her after he defeats the Na family.  Trash smiles and tells her that she is like the yolk of an egg and Sunyoung is only the empty shell – he’s so frustrated that his father-in-law (from now on CEO Na) disrespects him that he doesn’t feel anything for Sunyoung.

The next day, Sunyoung receives great news.  One of their hired interns was simultaneously hired by another company and chose the other company.  Sunyoung gleefully runs into CEO Na’s office and tells him that this is an opportunity to hire Haein.

CEO is ecstatic.  He also pauses to tell his daughter that he heard about the inappropriate questions Trash asked during the recruiting interview.  He wanted to call Trash in and berate him but barely held himself…

Sunyoung warns Trash about it but magically phrases it as there is nothing they can do (even though she actively helped hire Haein).   ^^

Then after a board of directors meeting, CEO Na calls Trash aside and tells him that Trash is pulled off the Recruiting Committee.  He heard about the inappropriate questions and their company does not stand by discriminating against potential recruits because the recruits come from fatherless families.  He also tells Trash that Trash will head up the logistics team under Development, which Haein is joining.  He warns that he will be watching to see how Trash treats an employee that he originally disliked

Ah, evil Dahee.  What is worse that most of us know someone like Dahee.  They are always aggressive and confident.  They get involved in other people’s lives without being invited…And they bluster about with puffery because they are so insecure and talentless.  They act all bossy and say preposterous things and the only thing holding you back is usually because, you, are unfortunately bound by society’s rules which the other flagrantly violates.  Usually, they have maybe one-hit wonders, if  at all…Otherwise, they have nothing under their name other than what was given to them by someone else.  What is worse?  Usually, such puffquacks interfere with the actual capable people in the world like Eunhee and make the Eunhee’s suffer for long periods without dealing with any of the emotional aftermath themselves.  Ugh, I feel your struggle.  You stepped on poop and it’s going to stink for a while.

As for Minsoo… What the HECK.  Dude, this is why even though Woojoo is older and has gone through a marriage, the girls feel their hearts moving for him.  Because HE HELPS and PROTECTS those in his life while all Minsoo does is try to move over the problem as if not publicizing the dress is a solution enough.  Would the writers PLEASE REHABILITATE OUR MAIN LEAD so that I CAN FEEL SOMETHING SQUEALWORTHY?

The one saving grace for this show was that so many characters were amazingly good; the good clearly outnumbered the bad.  For example, I love how Sunyoung and Ahyoung don’t care about Haein’s background and sincerely wish that Haein gets hired.  Additionally, who doesn’t love CEO Na?  Especially when he hears that an executive behaved out of line and promptly thereafter pulls said executive off of the recruiting team?  Can more companies in real life follow CEO Na’s example?  The Na family (including meh Minsoo) kindles my heart.

Here Comes Love Episode 1-5 RECAP

Welcome to the story of Eunhee Lee, who had one night’s mistake change her life.  She raises her daughter under the guise of being her daughter’s older spinster sister…And, her life is about to change as her daughter’s biological baby daddy’s brother-in-law works in the same industry as her…And, she looks just like his dead ex.

We open up at a wedding dress fashion show.  After it ends, Lee Eunhae walks out with her coworker sighing that they have far to go.  Her coworker encourages her that her designs are just as good but she doesn’t listen and walks off to go back to work.

Meanwhile, Minsoo and Dahee walk out from the same show.  He liked the dresses but wasn’t particularly impressed.  He’s more aloof and Dahee grumbles under a smile that he hasn’t gotten over the death of his girlfriend.

As he walks into the parking lot, Eunhae calls out for help from her call.  Her sideview mirror doesn’t work.  Minsoo helps but then stares at Eunhae’s face.  He pauses as Eunhae thanks him and drives off.  After minutes pass, he remembers to run after the car but it’s gone.  All Minsoo can do is mutter to himself that it can’t be.

Eunhee meets with a young blushing bride who happily tries on one of her dresses. As Eunhee arranges the dress around the girl, she finds out that the girl is only 20!

The young bride-to-be loves her dress but the bride’s aunt and mother have the money talk with Eunhee…It turns out that they are only marrying the because she is pregnant. But, her father is unemployed and her mother doesn’t have any money saved up. Their budget for the dress was $200.
Eunhee balks as even the cheapest dress in her store is $500…but then the aunt complains bitterly that they should force the girl to abort the baby and push off the wedding. Suddenly, Eunhee interrupts and loudly declares that she will provide the dress at $200 if the adults will leave the girl alone and promise not to tell anyone.
Eunhee’s employee hears this with dismay. After the women leave, he reminds her that they are not running a charity… But Eunhee is convinced that there was no other way. Her coworker? He tells her she’s more pitiful than the girl as the girl is at least engaged and begs Eunhee to date.
Since Eunhee’s mind is set, she changes the subject to the day’s wedding. It’s at some amazing wedding hall called Hara… They are so amazing that they only book one wedding per day.
Of course, Dramaland has it that Minsoo runs or owns Hara Wedding Hall. And the show hits you over the head with the fact that he’s OCD and serious about his work. First, he checks every single flower bouquet and then even checks the piano. Considering that I worked with a less detail oriented wedding planner, it’s good to know that some people care about the details in Korea. ^^
His piano playing brings back a flashback of Minsoo with his ex. They stand in front of an alter as Minsoo vows to take Hyeri (a woman that looks identical to Eunhee) as his wife and she reciprocates. After the vows, he tells her to quit her job after their wedding and only look at him. She laughs that she will since he makes enough. Ahem…as a millennial woman, I take this moment to urge all readers that this is not a healthy relationship! Your wife is not your servant. If she wants to take a break from work, so be it! But men should not coerce or try to manipulate their wives into making that decision!
Anyways, Hyeri goes on her trip but the airplane crashes and she dies.
Next character Lee Haein. She’s at school where she opens her lunch box packed by her sister. All of her friends gush over the cute food noting that Haein’s sister is so amazing.
Eunhee personally delivers her dress for the bride of the day but the girl isn’t at the salon! Just as Eunhee is about to freak out the girl walks in one hour late to her appointment. (Background – in Korea, you are supposed to do hair and makeup for 2-3 hrs on your wedding day. Then you change into your wedding dress. The guy also gets his hair and makeup done as well for one hour. Basically, this girl is one hour behind schedule!)
The bride says something happened and the groom will meet them at the ceremony hall. The salon staff usher the bride to a seat where they can start their magic.

Eunhee paces around during the makeup and hair process before she decides they don’t have any more time. She then begs the salon owner to borrow her scooter and off they go! Eunhee literally driving the bride off to the wedding by scooter! They make it minutes before the wedding is scheduled.

And Haein sings the congratulatory song. The girl is good!
After the wedding, Eunhee gets lost looking for the bathroom and stumbles into the video room. As she wanders, she runs into Minsoo who is not happy that someone is in the staff only area.  However, he arrogantly compliments Eunhee’s wedding dress design before insulting her by guessing that she is the helper auntie. (In Korea, the dress shop sends a helper auntie who helps the bride with everything from putting on the dress to hair and makeup touchups. These people are amazing!)
After the ceremony, the reception begins smoothly with cake cutting. They start the video to show happy pictures of the bride and groom when the video gets cut off.
Suddenly, an enraged woman comes on the screen calling the groom out for being an unforgivable arsehat that was with her even the night before. To make her point, the video turns to the two obviously playing around before hooking up… The poor bride faints.
The groom tries to flee during the resulting chaos. Eunhee sees him run and goes after him, catching him in the hallway. She still doesn’t know how baseless he is and asks him to return to the bride.
His answer? He was never that into the bride! Omg! So, Eunhee as the representative of women everywhere starts to beat him up with her purse. The only way it could be better is if she had managed to pick up something heavy to hit this guy with.
Minsoo sees the commotion and runs to intervene. But even Minsoo’s entrance into the beating radius is not enough to cool Eunhee’s fury. She yells at Minsoo and continues to whack both of the men until the men from the bride’s side comes to mete out the beating.
Later that evening, Minsoo’s employee reports that their security cameras have been tampered with. The spurned lover had already fled abroad and no one knows who tampered with the video.  The only footage that they have is of Eunhee wandering the hallway. Hello big misunderstanding!
Next we meet Minsoo’s sister (Sunyoung) and her useless  trash of a husband. Let’s call him Trash.
Basically, Trash is making out with Dahee when Sunyoung waits for him at home.

Minsoo lovingly chastises his sister for not being able to sleep when her husband is not home. She, in return, smiles and tells him to get married implying that he should be focusing on another woman.

But, at the same time, Trash and Dahee cuddle together sighing that they wish they could do this all night. Dahee tells Trash that Minsoo wants to create an in-house wedding design team so that his wedding hall is a one stop wedding shop. She also laughs that she should have Minsoo in her grasps soon. Quick! Lightning strike! Alas, the dramaland gods do not strike so quickly and swiftly.

Trash drives Dahee to a parking lot where Dahee’s car is parked. Oh Woojoo sees them as he’s packing up. It’s pouring so it’s not clear if he only sees Dahee get out of someone’s car and put her hand in lovingly or if he also sees Trash.

Trash goes up to simper to his trusting wife. And we seethe.

But wait! It’s not time for seething yet because we learn more! The lighting storm has Eunhee having a nightmare from the past…

She’s pregnant and she’s telling trash that she wants to keep the baby. She promises to never come and ask him for help or to relate the baby to him in any way. She begs him to let her just have the baby since it’s her baby.

Trash shoves her against the wall and snarls that it was a one night stand. He reminds her that he is engaged and getting married. Then he announces that he and the baby can’t live in the same world… One must die.

Oooh! From your lips to God! A prohecy! May it come true and Haein true to her blood have enough savageness to destroy you.

Anyways, Trash is an useless human being but he’s not a killer. When Eunhee doesn’t relent, he throws her on the ground and spits at her before stomping off in a huff.

Eunhee wakes up and runs to Haein’s room. However, Haein just sighs that her sister must have committed a lot of wrongs since she’s so scared of storms.

The next day, Minsoo’s family has breakfast together. The father-in-law takes this opportunity to berate Trash for his idea of producing soju through their company (Papa Group). He reminds Trash that their philosophy is to take care of the children and such a company shouldn’t be related to alcohol. He huffs that if Trash has time to research low alcohol soju, Trash should have time to look into new cheap crackers for the kids. Awwww. I like him.

Grumpy Gramps is weak to his granddaughter though. It doesn’t matter that she comes down late for breakfast or eats something different (fruit and eggs) than the rest of them. She can do no wrong.

The next morning, Eunhee gets her phone fixed. When she turns it on, she finds 12 missed calls from Minsoo!

She calls him back and he basically orders her into his office for questioning unless she wants to deal with the police. She doesn’t tell him to go stuff himself and shows up.

Minsoo accuses her of switching the tapes and causing the wrecked wedding. Eunhee angrily shouts back that she would never do something to ruin the bride’s wedding and she also sustained damages since the evening dress was ruined… Shouldn’t the wedding hall compensate her since it was their faulty security that let this happen?

At this, Minsoo backs off but he still seems suspicious as Eunhee won’t change her mind that it’s a good thing the bride didn’t marry that cheating lying bag of potatoes. But, Eunhee has had enough and gets up to leave.

At this point, Minsoo has the gall to ask why a helper auntie is so busy. Eunhee stares at him flabbergasted before asking if he thinks that she wouldn’t be busy just because she’s a helper auntie! Go Eunhee! And then she storms out.

But Eunhee heads over to the bathroom where she stupidly leaves her bag on the counter. Who does that these days? Anyways unbelievable plot trope later, Dahee walks out of one of the stalls while Eunhee goes in. Seeing the sketch book, Dahee randomly decides to look through it and finds sketches of wedding dresses.

When Dahee hears Eunhee flushing her toilet, Dahee runs out with the sketch book to pretend that it’s hers.

More background. Minsoo calls a meeting with the wedding dress design team which Dahee leads. They haven’t obtained much success or popularity so he asks them to work harder and be careful about copying others.

Dahee bristles at Minsoo’s warning even though she’s pretty much a useless deadweight to the company. Then she goes out and calls Trash to complain that her boss actually had the gall to ask her to do her job! Trash tells her to be careful and appease Minsoo since if Minsoo gets angry, he could investigate her background and find out that she lied about her credentials including studying at a fashion school in New York. She even got the job through Trash being Minsoo’s brother-in-law.

Then that evening, Trash takes Sunyoung to the live cafe for a double date with Minsoo and Dahee. Sunyoung believes that Dahee is Trash’s ignored little cousin and has no idea that they are having an affair.

It turns out that Woojoo is the owner of the live jazz bar. He recognizes Dahee and Trash when they walk in with Sunyoung.

To add to the tension, Woojoo is divorced because his ex-wife (the live signer Lena) cheated on him multiple times! But Lena still sings for the bar as she misses her husband after cheating. Another useless human being.

As the trio watch the show, Trash pretends to be lovey dovey to his wife saying he doesn’t need a private life other than her. And, Dahee gets jealous enough to kick him.

Eunhee is having a bad day where everything doesn’t work out. Then Haein drops by because she’s meeting a friend and wanted to leave her bags.

Meanwhile at the bar, Sunyoung excuses herself for the lady’s room giving the two evil idiots time to declare their love again. Trash tells Dahee to be patient as he’s going to steal everything away from his father-in-law and boss. Then, he will marry her. Dahee laughs with glee and they toast to the horrible future as Woojoo watches with concern.

Then a drunk patron throws up on Sunyoung which Woojoo sees. He quickly goes over and offers one of the staff shirts. Then he pointedly asks about the relationship between Trash and Dahee.

Sunyoung changes into the shirt before returning and one of Woojoo’s staff offers to comp the whole dinner for the inconvenience. When Dahee looks over and comments that Woojoo looks clean and manly, Trash bristles with jealousy and begins making a big deal about the incident.

At the same time, Minsoo finds Eunhee’s bridal shop closed. He sighs and goes to a nearby convenience store for a drink…

Just as Eunhee makes another mistake and cuts herself. She has to run to the nearby convenience store for bandaids…

Then, as Eunhee walks back, she runs into a drunkard abusing his pregnant wife. This moves Eunhee who runs over to throw herself between the guy and his wife. The drunk doesn’t care if he beats up his wife or Eunhee but Minsoo hears the commotion and appears just in time to help out.

With Minsoo involved, the drunkard slinks off and the pregnant wife is able to go home.

Minsoo turns to Eunhee and asks if she’s a gangster always getting involved in other people’s businesses. Eunhee shouts back that everyone has a duty to protect pregnant women, which hits Minsoo with sincerity. He calms down and offers to bandaid the cut finger.

After he helps, Minsoo tells Eunhee that they found the real culprit behind the video fiasco and apologizes. Surprisingly, Eunhee accepts his apology heartily and claims that they have settled their score with him helping her out in the most recent fight. With a lighter heart now that no one thinks she tried to ruin someone’s wedding, Eunhee returns to work surprising Minsoo that she’s still working.

When Minsoo gets home, he pauses in his room as he remembers Eunhee’s sincere empathy… The beginning of love?

As for Eunhee, she realizes later that it’s gotten late and drops Hain’s bag. Out flows a bunch of questionable stuff including condoms, birth control pills and a man’s underwear.

She freaks out and calls her mom only to hear that Haein hasn’t come home yet…

Eunhee rushes home and beats Haein. When Haein arrives, Eunhee immediately begins to demand to know where Haein was and with whom. The additional scrutiny irritates Haein who decides to avoid the fight by running into her room.

But Eunhee follows an demands an explanation for every single item. Haein is pissed off at this point as well…she laughs that she bought the pregnancy test to see if she was pregnant because she sleeps around and that’s what the other items are for as well. She asks if Eunhee is satisfied before screaming that Eunhee needs to leave her room that instant.

Eunhee’s mom diffuses the situation by leading Eunhee out. She promises to ask Haein in the morning calmly when Eunhee is gone and asks Eunhee to be patient.

The next morning, Eunhee’s mom follows through with her promise and we find it that the bag was actually Haein’s friend’s. The friend had gotten so drunk that Haein brought the bag for her. But then she got so annoyed by her sister’s controlling behavior that she lied that it was hers.

Mom calls Eunhee to tell her the good news. However, Eunhee then calls out the friend to meet. Handing over the bag, she tells the friend to stay away from Haein.

At that moment, Haein walks in and sees her friend scoff at Eunhee before storming out. She realizes that her sister was interfering again and screams at her sister to get out of her life. Haein then runs home to pack her bags and run out.

Eunhee decides to enlist help in finding Haein, she goes across the street to their neighbors and friends (Mrs. Hang and her son Hansol). First thing we notice is that he’s a momma’s boy…. Haein, run away… Run far, far away for Mrs. Jang is definitely the type to make your life miserable and it’s not worth it!

Anyways, Eunhee asks if Hansol has heard anything from Haein who has run away. Hansol drops his spoon in shock and immediately declares to go find Haein. This leaves Mrs. Jang and Eunhee alone to have a passive aggressive fight about whether Hansol likes Haein or Haein is trying to seduce Hansol…

Hence, Hansol arrives at their old band practicing studio with some kimbap. He tells Haein not to be so rash since he was shocked and his heart wrenched hearing that she ran away. Haein, in turn, thanks him for the kimbap and tells him to go back home and study for the accountant’s exam.

Hansol asks if they can’t get married after he passes the accountant’s exam. He promises to do all of the housework, give Haein nightly massages, and spend all holidays traveling so they don’t have to deal with family. Haein laughs it off and tells him to wake up – they are just friends. Poor puppy but your mother hun… You’re gonna have a hard time finding a wife other than a low rate gold digger with that kind of mom.

Even though Hansol promises not to tell anyone, he tells Eunhee and his mother. So, off Eunhee goes!

But, first, she stops by a flower shop to buy a bouquet of marigolds. She runs into Minsoo there as he’s buying up the marigolds for the reception the next day.

She asks him for just one bouquet as these are the flowers her sister loves and she has to apologize. Minsoo agrees if Eunhee can tell him the flower meaning behind marigolds. Eunhee smiles that there are two types, the first means sorrow while the second type means happiness must come.

Hence, Eunhee gets a bouquet and goes out with Minsoo following. He asks her for another favor – to meet the wedding dress shop designer as he wants to scout her.

Eunhee laughs him off and tells him to give up. Her boss has a lot of pride and she built up that small wedding dress shop, she would never give it up.

Then Eunhee goes to meet Haein who is still furious at her older interfering unmarried sister. She has a point as she’s in college.

Haein refuses to accept any more aid from Eunhee. Eunhee looks like she wants to tell Haein the truth but stops right before she says it. Instead, she promises to leave the house if Haein returns and to stop interfering with Haein’s life.

Haein reluctantly agrees even though she seems suspicious.

And, Eunhee goes home to pack. Mom comes in and clucks that this is not the way to raise a child but Eunhee cries that she can’t let Haein sleep outside. She asks Mom if they can’t tell Haein the truth.

Mom is resolute that they can’t because it’s better chances for Eunhee to get married as an old spinster than someone who had a child out of wedlock. She reminds Eunhee to think of Haein’s future as well. When Eunhee still hesitates, Mom brings up dead dad implying that he died from the stress of the incident of Eunhee’s pregnancy…oh dear, Trash has a LOT to answer for.

The next day, Trash and Father-in-Law duke it out as Trash allowed a press release relating to the new soju line from Papa Group even though the Father-in-Law was pretty clear that he didn’t want that.

The Father-In-Law orders that Trash request a retraction on the first page. Trash reluctantly agrees and storms out as Sunyoung comes in.

Sunyoung asks her father to be patient with Trash as Trash is only trying to impress his former boss. But the Father-in-Law is unconvinced. He grumbles that he has to protect his company or Trash will run it into the ground.

As for Trash, he waits until the Father-in-Law and Sunyoung leave for lunch. Then he meets up with Dahee.

At Dahee’s place, Trash goes up first while Dahee drops her car off at a car wash… Which is coincidentally the one that Haein got a part time job at.

As Trash is about to go up, he realizes that he doesn’t have his wallet and calls his secretary. The secretary confirms that he didn’t leave it at the office. So, Trash calls Dahee who is on the other line…

Trash decides that it must still be in the car and goes back where Haein had begun spraying it. He stops her to open the door and search but doesn’t find anything. Then he decides that Haein stole it and blatantly accuses her of doing so.

Haein angrily yells back that she hasn’t even opened the door yet but Trash isn’t listening. He smirks that he can cancel the card and Haein can use the cash as allowance since she’s so pitiful.

Trash turns to walk away in his arsehat glory and Haein decides to throw her wet sponge at Trash. It hits and Trash literally roars at her for throwing a rag at him. He then commences to push Haein down, which throws her off balance and she falls against the side mirror breaking it. Trash warns Haein’s boss and friend to fix the car or else and leaves.

When Trash goes upstairs, he finds Dahee there with sushi. She also has his wallet. But Trash doesn’t repent. He has the gall to tell Dahee not to use that car wash again and to not tell the employees that they found the wallet. Of course, our ray of innocent sunshine Dahee agrees.

We turn back to Sunyoung, Minsoo and their father who have lunch. Their father tells Sunyoung that he’s letting Minsoo build another wedding hall on their land in Paju in exchange for rent. Sunyoung smiles that it’s good for Minsoo and she doesn’t begrudge him.

At the same time, Dahee breaks the news to Trash as she saw the contracts on Minsoo’s desk. Trash jumps to the conclusion that the old man is reallocating his assets so not to give Trash any. Ya think?

Meanwhile, Haein meets with Hansol as she has to pay $1,000 for fixing up Dahee’s car. She sighs as she doesn’t know what to do. And, Hansol jokes that this is her punishment for leaving home. He offers to let her borrow the money if she returns home.

So, Haein returns and Eunhee gleefully goes shopping for materials to make Haein dinner.

At the same time, Minsoo visits Eunhee’s wedding dress shop and is surprised to find out that they don’t employ any helper aunties… The employee laughs and proudly explains that their boss actually goes herself.

While Minsoo is sorting that out, Haein wakes up from her nap to a text by Hansol asking to meet. She rushes out only to run into Eunhee. Her smile fades away as she accuses her “sister” of not keeping her promise and orders that Eunhee leaves immediately!

Eunhee agrees to leave while Mom looks on with growing anger. After Eunhee leaves, Mom turns to Haein to yell that she’s horrible for being so harsh on her sister.

Haein bites back that Mom only cares about Eunhee and muses that she must have been a foundling…found by Eunhee. In the heat of the moment, Mom agrees.

MY TWO CENTS / FIRST IMPRESSIONSFirst off, similar to Make a Woman Cry, the main character is an older woman.  Even if we assume that Eunhee got pregnant when she was younger, Haein is in college…  Hence, I think we can safely assume that Eunhee is at least 40.  As a result, I don’t think there will be as blatantly cutesy moments in this drama.

Despite that fact, I find Eunhee highly relatable.  Yes, she made a mistake by sleeping with Trash.  However, she not only took responsibility for that action but she stood up to Trash when he used both physical and verbal abuse to deter Eunhee from giving birth to Haein.  She had Haein and seems to have done a great job raising the girl with the help of her mother.  Haein has turned into a sweet but slightly spoiled brat that is completely sheltered from the world as implied by Haein’s decision to turn down Eunhee’s financial aid and run away to the band studio.  Last but not least, though we do not know when Eunhee’s father passed away, it looks like Eunhee has been working to keep her family and her daughter afloat without having to want for anything.  From these five episodes alone, I really hope that Eunhee will get her happy ending and a great break in life.

In contrast, Minsoo feels a bit flat in the beginning.  Yes, he is the only son of a CEO of a large company.  But, the drama made it clear that Minsoo branched off on his own unlike Trash to create Hara Wedding Hall.  So, even though Minsoo was genetically blessed through the lottery of birth, he didn’t lay on his laurels and keeps working hard to reinvest his talents.  In other words, our main character is from a great family, has a great work ethic, and has a successful career.  Great.  Yet, I don’t feel like I want to swoon when he comes on the screen.  Nor do I feel myself shyly smiling.  There is some kind of magical chemistry missing…as of the first five episodes.  Is it the hair?  Is it the clothes?  Something!  But – this is not a deal breaker.

Turning to Trash and Dahee.  Wow!  The writer did an amazing job in creating two characters that the viewers will LOVE to hate.  First, Trash…Trash… Trash.  Wow.  So, he grew up in an orphanage and then began to work for Sunyoung’s father.  At one point, he got engaged to Sunyoung but still slept with Eunhee?  Then, when he hears that Eunhee is pregnant, he threatens her into aborting the baby?

As if that is not enough to get him a one-way ticket to drama hell, he goes on to have an affair with his friend from the orphanage while married to Sunyoung.  Yes, his comeuppance will be delicious.

As for Dahee.  She is everything that I hate embodied into a character.  She lied about her education and credentials.  She dreams about a station far beyond what she deserves – being the wife of the CEO of Papa Group.  And, she knows that Trash is currently married but she actively engages in the affair waiting for the day that he will steal everything from Sunyoung and turn to her.

Having a Cinderella dream is fine.  Additionally, not working is wine.  But, what is up with this girl trying to ruin Minsoo’s business and coveting Sunyoung’s position?  If you want riches and success, WORK FOR IT, don’t spent all your time frolicking between the sheets with Trash (pun intended).  Create your own darn Dahee Group or something!  With all the time you spend conniving behind Minsoo’s and Sunyoung’s back, I can bet that a small company could have been created! She has greed and ambition far greater than she’s willing to put in the effort.  Sure, she goes to work only to pout at Minsoo and steal other people’s designs.  Not to mention that she’s perfectly happy wrecking another family…Where is this girl’s morals?!  This girl needs a comeuppance and fast.

Next – Haein!  Okay, so I respect Hain first off because she doesn’t care about puppy Hansol flitting around her.  I’m not sure if she knows that marrying him would sand her with annoying mother-in-law or if she’s just not attracted to Hansol.  But, at least the girl has some sense of intuition.  Other than that, I felt that Haein had more dimension than Minsoo.

Haein’s frustration at her interfering older spinster sister is completely understandable.  The girl is a senior in college or at least 21 years old.  She is an adult.  Anyone in her shoes would feel suffocated by the attention that Eunhee gives Haein.

Additionally, I thought the last scene in Episode 5 was enlightening.  When Mom berates Haein for being harsh on Eunhee, Haein accusing Mom of not loving her.  From Haein’s standpoint, this could be how she sees it.  Mom is in the awkward position where she is “Haein’s Mom” but she also defers to her beloved daughter who is Haein’s biological mother.  As a result, Haein might have felt that Mom cares only about Eunhee and expresses less love toward her since Eunhee does enough love expressing for both Eunhee and Mom… But, in turn, this could affect Haein’s reaction toward Eunhee’s obsession.  She sees Eunhee as stealing all of Mom’s love AND interfering all the time.

So final first impressions?  I’m going to continue to watch this and continue to recap it.  The plot is obviously not the center of this series as it is more of a story about Eunhee/Minsoo and their story of achieving success and happiness.  But, the character backgrounds and the acting is strong enough to make one continue to watch it.  Each episode leaves you feeling pretty entertained and satisfied.
